Project Overview
North East Link is the biggest ever investment in Melbourne’s North East. The central package involves the construction of 6.5km of tunnels from Watsonia to Bulleen, including interchanges at Lower Plenty Rd, Manningham Rd and Eastern Freeway. Significant new parklands, green bridges and wetlands form part of the project.
Our Role
Clifton Formwork (Vic) have been contracted by SPARK CJV to carry out formwork and concrete placement works for capping beams, plenum beams and lower plenum beams at both the Lower Plenty “Box” and the Manningham “Box” (to later form the interchange locations). The works were completed to demanding programs, which included 24hr working schedules and significant concrete pours up to 1200m3. Following the initial works, additional work packages have been awarded, including roof slabs on falsework (Manningham), additional capping beams and surface works consisting of barriers, battleships and misc works. During late 2024, over 9000m3 was poured in Lower Plenty in a single month and all works were completed at Lower Plenty by end of 2024, a significant milestone for the project team.
