Project Overview:
The Kilmany rail over road bridge was the first of its kind rail bridge to be constructed in the state, The bridge consisted of a 95 meter long span steel arch bridge with 16 steel arch segments and over 1000 cubic meters of concrete. The bridge was built offline to minimise rail traffic disturbances. The entire rail bridge was slid 27meters into it final position during a rail closure by means of hydraulic jacks.
Our Role
Clifton Formwork (Vic) was contracted by Laing O Rourke to carry out formwork, reinforcement and concrete placement works, The works consisted of insitu abutments , Pilecaps, Deflection walls & 95m long bridge span consisting of over 1000 meter cubes of concrete, 700t of reinforcement. Installation of High strength Steel Hanger cast ins and over 1000 linear meters of post tension ducts.
