Project Overview
Swanson Dock West is a critical International Container Terminal and comprises of 944m of container handling berths, which was constructed in several stages between 1960s and 1980s. Sections of the SDW are close to or beyond the typical design life of 30 years. The works include wharf remediation, retaining wall and pile remediation and bollard upgrades.
Our Role
Clifton Formwork (Vic) have been contracted by McConnell Dowell to carry out formwork, reinforcement and concrete placement works for the construction of new deck slabs as part of the wharf remediation. Additionally the scope includes bollard and fender beam upgrades, involving falseworks suspended over live waterways and works under the wharf. Further scope includes deck remediation, cathodic protection and crane rail replacement. This is Clifton Formwork (Vic)’s 6th project to Port of Melbourne since 2013, reflecting and almost continuous presence within the port, driven by safety, quality and value for money.
